Technology in Schools

There is a lot of tech learning happening in our local schools. Those lucky enough to reside in Porirua East may know about the amazing technology available at the Porirua East Kahui Ako lending library. These can be accessed by teachers and are shared across schools for students to learn. There’s an EPro8 kit, robots, microscopes, MakeyMakey, and more available! Check in with your within school lead if you want to find out more.

Local Technology Study Opportunities

Here is a list of some of the study opportunities to further your technology knowledge within the Wellington region

FOR TEACHERS

PLD Opportunities

We are proud of our local schools for facing up to the challenges and opportunities that arise in teaching and learning, especially with technology.

Schools we work with don’t see technology as something to hide from, but do see the balance required to ensure learning and safety are at the centre for our young people.

Kaiako are taking some amazing steps to ensure students and themselves are educated about digital literacy, digital safety, and using digital tools to enhance learning.

Te Mana o Kupe Trust can facilitate sessions or meetings to support your school community in a range of areas of digital technology that they would like to focus on - such as digital safety, integrating technology, digital literacy, or by running whānau workshops.
